Canaa Brown was trying to move forward with her life after the end of her marriage. She had entered a new relationship and appeared ready to begin a different chapter. According to investigators, however, her former husband was not willing to let that chapter begin without him. Police say 43-year-old Barrington Brown continued following Canaa even after their relationship had deteriorated. Her family later told investigators that they believed he had been stalking her.
