To everybody reading this, please hear me when I say this:
Life is not promised to us.
We keep thinking we have more time. More time to make the call. More time to apologize. More time to forgive. More time to say, “I love you.” More time to work through the disagreement.
But none of us knows what tomorrow holds.
James 4:14 says:
“Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air].”
James 4:14, AMP
Please don’t let something temporary become a permanent goodbye.
Make the call. Say what needs to be said. Give grace. Forgive where you can. Tell people you love them while they are still here to hear it.
Today I’m reminded just how precious, fragile, and temporary this life really is.
Rest peacefully, Janiyah.
You were loved. You were rooted for. And you will be remembered.
