The facility involved was a Lineage warehouse in Boyle Heights. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, investigators determined that the fire originated on the roof, at or near a section containing solar panels. The investigation has now been completed, but officials did not identify a definitive cause.
That finding has become one of the most closely watched parts of the case. Investigators examined whether the solar equipment played a role, but they could not conclusively establish that it caused the fire. At the same time, the investigation could not completely rule the equipment out.
